are brown to tan because of organization. since the bleeding
is venous, subdurals can form more slowly and insidiously than
clots from arterial hemorrhages. subdurals are most common
in the very young and the elderly.


this is a sagittal head ct scan without contrast demonstrating
bilateral subdural hematomas, the right greater in size than the left.
